At the moment there are lots of really cool snow boarding games out there for almost every computer console that you can think of, there is also online games and PC games for you to try. It really is a lot of fun for those of us who want to sample the world of snow boarding through a game. A lot people criticise computer games and the way that they stop children going out and doing real sport and activities, and although this is the case with a lot of children I have found that many of the people that I know that have started snow boarding only done so because they firstly tried it on a computer.

I have recently been hearing about how our local newspapers (in the UK) are falling into decline due to a raft of competition from various alternative media sources such as the internet.

I live in Birmingham and I am the type of person who loves to play and watch sports. Where I live we have a famous Saturday nights sports paper which arrives in the shops at around 6pm, it is called The Sports Argus and is pink in colour. This paper has been a must buy for my family for as long as I can remember and it includes all of the days football results and the latest football tables. It also has match reports from all of the local teams as well as a lot of information about other sports including the horse racing and its results. This paper will no longer be available as it appeared in the shops for the last time around three weeks ago.

Ask a boy what he wants to be when he grows up, and you’re unlikely to hear the response of “circus ringmaster.” And even if a youngster is intent on stepping into the center ring, most would not know how to get started on such a career path.

That path can be rather circuitous, as it was for Tyron Stucks McFarlan Jr., who grew up a “military brat” and enlisted in the Army National Guard at age 16. He completed advanced training while attending college, and graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in criminal justice. But, as McFarlan puts it, “Whatever is truly inside you is going to come out-sooner or later,” and for him that “whatever” was music; in high school he’d discovered a talent for singing and performing.

After college, McFarlan ventured into musical theater, modeling and commercial work. But it was his unique combination of talent, work ethic and physical presence that made him ideal for his biggest role: Ringmaster for The Greatest Show on Earth.

Are you an elementary school teacher or a home school mom that is burned out of coming up with elementary lesson plans for your students? I’m quite sure that no one except teachers has any idea of how difficult and sometimes stressful it is to come up with great elementary lesson plans for each subject and each day you plan to teach.

I recently retired from teaching after having a fourth grade classroom for nearly thirty five years. I loved teaching more than anything else, but planning elementary lesson plans nearly did me in a few times. At several times throughout my teaching career I would come home and complain to my husband that I wanted to be done. The job was too hard, the pay was too small, I was underappreciated, and I had to spend hours each week making elementary lessons plans that half of the time I didn’t even follow.

President Bush said we are addicted to oil. Most smokers say they are addicted to nicotine. I thought I was. Some, in attempting to quit, chew nicotine gum or apply nicotine patches. Neither work in more than fifteen per cent of cases because nicotine is not addicting. Heroin is.

Until recently I did not make that distinction. I once published an article about all kinds of addictions which were no more than habits.

A relatively small percentage of the population is addicted to alcohol. Heavy drinkers just have the habit of drinking a lot every day. Smokers have the habit of putting something in their mouth up to 400 times a day. Americans have the habit of driving wherever and whenever they feel like it in gas guzzling vehicles. Gamblers have the habit of ruining their lives to varying degrees.

Heroin is addicting. Nicotine is not. Heroin addicts have violent physical reactions when deprived. True alcoholics have severe reactions, too. Heavy drinkers can go without a drink and not react physically. Cigarette smokers do not get sick when they run out of cigarettes. Drivers may complain but don’t get sick when forced to stay
